Have a Z for indulging my musings.
This is weird. I was sued personally by an opposing party for some controversial things I did in a case he was pursuing against a client of mine in 2008. (I can’t really go into detail)
The case against me was dismissed, and the other side appealed. They don’t want money; they want revenge.
The appeal is being heard Tuesday, and I sat in on the practice session today. It is weird to be the client when I am used to being the attorney.

They say doctors make the worst patients, and it can sometimes be true. I hope it’s not true for lawyers.

Huh. That is a bizarre situation. You worried at all or more just bummed that you have to ride it out?

That is strange... Seems like a lot of work for being petty.

Same thing happened to me a few years ago. Opposing party filed an amended petition naming me as a defendant. Luckily, the judge smacked the plaintiff and his attorney pretty quickly, dismissing the claim and sanctioning the lawyer. And I got the last laugh, getting a $2+ million judgment at trial on my client’s counterclaims. But I still remember the feeling I had when I saw my name as a defendant.

It sucks to be sued. Have a picture from Goodwood.
